The chief of Denmark’s foreign intelligence service has been imprisoned for a month, according to local media, for allegedly disclosing highly classified information.
Lars Findsen was arrested and charged with alleged leaks late last year. The claims have been labelled “crazy” by him. Danish officials said at the time that four members of the intelligence services, both current and former, had been arrested.
Until Mr Findsen appeared in court on Monday, they were all unknown to the general public. A publishing ban on naming Mr Findsen was loosened during a closed-doors session, according to Danish national broadcaster DR, which revealed more facts about the case.
“I want the charges to be brought forward, and I want to plead not guilty. This is just absurd “During the hearing, Mr Findsen spoke to reporters.
