Even before Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was published, Sony confirmed the official title of the third instalment of the animation franchise Spider-Verse. Sony has published the opening 15 minutes of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, after the news of revised release dates for the two-part sequels to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The news was revealed during a screening of the opening 15 minutes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at CinemaCon. The title of the franchise’s third instalment was also announced, hinting at a much larger adventure for the friendly superheroes of the neighbourhood.
To combat the unwelcomed terrifying supervillains who have wrecked devastation on the cosmos, Miles Morales will need the assistance of his heroic counterparts from other realms. Aside from Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man 2099, the young web-slinger from Earth 610 will be joined by a bevvy of new characters as Sony prepares to explore the multiverse’s lesser-known regions. Along with revealing that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will include the largest cast ever formed for an animated film, Sony also stated that the film will contain 240 characters, six universes, and the largest ensemble ever assembled for an animated film.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theatres on June 2, 2023, and Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released on March 29, 2024. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was originally scheduled to be released on October 7, 2022, however it was moved back a few days.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will now be released a month before Madame Web on July 7, 2023. Another Spider-Man spin-off, starring Dakota Johnson, will go deeper into the backstory of a clairvoyant with psychic abilities who can look into the spider world.
Sony has also announced sequels to Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, as well as El Muerto, a Spider-Man spinoff starring Bad Bunny as Marvel’s first live-action Latino lead.
