‘Moon Knight,’ a new web series from Marvel Studios, will premiere on Disney+ tomorrow. The series, which stars Oscar Isaac, is already part of a rare MCU club, since it is the first to have a full web series for a new character air immediately on Disney+ for the first season. The Emmy nominations for WandaVision and the streaming records set by Loki’s new series starring Tom Hiddleston have already brought Marvel Studios a lot of success. Although this is a new character for those who have not read Marvel comics, he initially appeared in August 1975 in Doug Moench and Don Perlin’s publication Werewolf by Night. Ethan Hawke, a four-time Academy Award nominee, also stars in the series.
In an interview with Collider about season 2, Grant Curtis stated that the second season is still uncertain, but that Moon Knight can fit into “any corner” of the MCU universe. He also added: “What I will say is this: because we delve into so many interesting tones in the tapestry we eventually weave together with this show, the action-adventure globetrotting, the bump in the night horror aspects of it, the mental health character study, the humor, I do think wherever [Marvel President] Kevin [Feige] wants this character to go in the future, I don’t think there’s any corner in the MCU that that Moon Knight cannot inhabit naturally. And that is a testament not only to the character on the page but the character that Oscar Isaac brings to the screen.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding a second season, Curtis is looking forward to working with Moon Knight’s “Amazing Cast” on any future projects featuring the character. The new characters presented to Dsiney+ by Marvel Studios are just getting started, whether it’s Loki or Ms. Marvel, starring Iman Vellani.
