SNL actor Pete Davidson was in court with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian on April 28th, where the trial of Blac Chyna’s lawsuit against the Kardashians is taking place. Kim Kardashian attended the trial, where both sides’ lawyers presented their closing arguments, and her boyfriend Pete Davidson was present to show his support for the family. Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner, Kim’s mother and sisters, were also present.
Blac Chyna sued Kim, Kris, Kylie, and Khloe Kardashian for defamation and interfering with her E! contract. Previously, the model, whose true name is Angela White, was engaged to Kris Jenner’s son Rob Kardashian. Blac Chyna, who has a 5-year-old daughter with Rob Kardashian named Dream, co-starred in the E! reality show “Rob & Chyna.” Michael Rhodes, the Kardashians’ lawyer, contended that Chyna and Rob were happy for a while in their relationship, but it didn’t work out after that.
The key disagreement in this case, according to Rhodes, is Blac Chyna’s view that Rob & Chyna was based on her, and she accused the Kardashians of cancelling the programme after only one season. Rhodes told the court, “It was never her show. This is the central problem in this case. She thinks this show was about her. It wasn’t her show. It was a show about a relationship. It was about both of them. It’s just one of those relationships that didn’t work. This was supposed to be a lighthearted romantic comedy. Rob & Chyna in Love was the working title. It’s what the network was trying to produce. The show’s premise was to be lighthearted, a romantic family comedy.”
Rhodes cited the negative media reports regarding Blac Chyna, noting, “This wasn’t the kind of content the network wanted to put out. The network wanted the same kind of tone as Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And, yeah, the Kardashians have problems. They’re real people too but there’s a point it becomes too much. It became dark and heavy. This is a real family. Yeah, they’re famous but they are real people. The relationship at the heart of Rob & Chyna was unraveling. They were on/off, on/off but by February it’s gone off the cliffs. This doesn’t have a happy ending. It’s kind of sad. This is a very sad story. It’s grim.” Though season 2 of Rob & Chyna was a possibility, Rhodes said there was no obligation or responsibility to extend the reality show.
Chyna’s lawyer, on the other hand, questioned her client’s claims of a deadly attack on Rob Kardashian. He didn’t have any bruises or injury marks on his body, and he didn’t go to the police or seek medical attention, she said. Rob would have brought Dream with him instead of leaving her at home if he was truly afraid for his life and Chyna planned to kill him, she added.
