BTS, Psy, and BLACKPINK, all from South Korea, have drastically changed the global landscape of K-pop music. SEVENTEEN, another all-boy band, is preparing to release its first English-language single, named ‘Darl+ing,’ in their place. Fans are eager after the music group teased them with concept photos and a trailer for their new track.
SEVENTEEN’s debut English-language song will serve as a precursor to their heartbreaking stories for their fans—CARATs—all around the world, and will be released ahead of their full-length album’s release in May. The new single’s title is “Darl+ing,” styled with the addition of a plus sign to the endearing phrase used to call a lover, according to the previously leaked title poster.
The group recently released the video for their track, which features summer hues and soft-colored backgrounds. The teaser begins with what looks to be a sunlit memory wall filled with images and notes from the entire crew. Meanwhile, the usage of happy emoticons and sunflowers gives their bright teaser a new depth of warmth. The tempo suggests that ‘Darl+ing’ will be a heartwarming rendition of the group, despite the fact that the video only shows a snippet of the track’s beat without lyrics. The K-pop creatives have also revealed a partnership initiative with Apple as global fans count down the days till the release. SEVENTEEN and Apple will conduct the first-ever K-pop Today at Apple Remix session, which will feature “Darl+ing,” in honour of the release of the new single and the opening of Apple’s new shop in Korea. The Remix Session attendees will learn more about the band’s creative process and be guided through the development of a one-of-a-kind remix of the new tune utilising GarageBand and Apple devices. The session will first be available in Korea, before being made available in Apple stores around Asia.
