In a recent interview, Justin Bieber, a Canadian singer-songwriter, discussed the ups and downs of his marriage. According to the publication, the 27-year-old pop star discussed low points in his life brought about by his own personal challenges, as well as how his partner, Hailey Baldwin, helped him get through them.
Describing himself to the outlet as someone who was always “compelled” to get married, Bieber said, “I just felt like that was my calling. Only to get married, have children, and go through the motions.”
As for babies for himself and Baldwin, the ‘Love Yourself’ crooner said, “Not this second, but we will eventually.”
Bieber, on the other hand, went on to talk about how his own personal demons created a rift in his marriage to his best friend.
The ‘Pacher’ singer said, “The first year of marriage was really tough because there was a lot going back to the trauma. There was just a lack of trust. There were all these things that you don’t want to admit to the person that you’re with because it’s scary. You don’t want to scare them off by saying, ‘I’m scared.'”
According to reports, the hitmaker and Baldwin married in a New York City courthouse in September 2018, just two months after getting engaged in the Bahamas in July.
A source close to the couple said, “They went ahead and did it without listening to anyone.”
The couple held a larger second wedding ceremony in front of family and friends on September 30, 2019.
As the sun set at the Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina, Bieber and Baldwin, who wore a custom off-white gown, exchanged vows and Tiffany wedding bands.
Bieber and Baldwin are “only making these moments for us as a person, as a family, where we’re constructing these memories,” according to Bieber.
He added, “And it’s beautiful that we have that to look forward to. Before, I didn’t have that to look forward to in my life. My home life was unstable. I didn’t have a significant other. I didn’t have someone to love. I didn’t have someone to pour into.”
Another critical element in coping with his difficulties, according to the singer, is his faith.
According to Justin Bieber, “Grace is who he is. I came to a place where I just was like, ‘God, if you’re real, I need you to help me, because I can’t do this on my own. Like, I’m struggling so hard. Every decision I make is out of my own selfish ego.'”
According to the Grammy-winning singer, “So I’m just like, ‘What are you looking for from me?’ You put all these desires in my heart for me to sing and perform and to make music—where are these coming from?”
He continued, “Why does this have such a strong hold on my heart? What’s the point? What is the point of everything? What is the point of me being on this planet?'”
On the work front, the singer released ‘Justice,’ his sixth studio album, on March 19. On March 26, Bieber released a deluxe edition of the record, which includes six additional tracks.
Prior to ‘Justice,’ Bieber launched ‘Changes,’ which included the singles ‘Yummy,’ ‘Intentions,’ and ‘Forever.’ The album was nominated for a Grammy for best pop vocal album, and it marked his first release since 2015’s ‘Purpose.’
