He’s a superhero,’ and one of the comic book versions of the character is infamous for sending The Avenging Squad to spy on German forces. Several American soldiers were killed in the process. He also had a few tense encounters with Homelander, who is depicted by Antony Starr in the show.
Soldier Boy has strong and agile abilities, allowing him to evade bullets and blows with ease. He also has a shield that has been incorporated into Ackles’ costume and which he uses as a weapon. Soldierer Boy was a fan favourite, and Kripke was aware of this while creating the character for the film. Kripke had previously worked with Ackles on the long-running demon-hunting television programme “Supernatural,” so casting was easy.
Creator Eric Kripke said, “When I cast Jensen as Soldier Boy, the first thing I said was, ‘I’m most excited for you, because of the amazing process you’ll go through with LJ, our Super Suit maker.’” He added, “It took six months but the experience surpassed Jensen’s expectations. L.J. has made a work of art that tips its hat to the WWII Soldier Boy from the comics while taking it in a sleek new direction.
