Due to the Covid epidemic, Uncharted’s release date was repeatedly postponed, and those postponements appear to have resulted in more references to the games being incorporated into the film. Despite following younger versions of the characters, the film brings together elements from the entire Uncharted franchise, such as the freight plane sequence from Uncharted 3: Drake Deception and Sam’s origin storey from Uncharted 4. When players encounter Chloe in the second Uncharted game, it’s revealed that she used to be Nathan’s infatuation interest. Because of the success of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Chloe’s rising star, the Uncharted film adaptation decided to look into her blossoming love/hate relationship with Nathan.
It’s not a leap to say Ali’s Chloe in Uncharted seems the most like her video game partner. Regardless, it’s worth noting that Nathan’s primary love interest and inevitable spouse is reporter Elena Fisher, who isn’t featured in the Uncharted film but will most likely appear in a sequel, depending on the success of the first. Uncharted surpassed Sony’s early end-of-week expectations with $44.2 million, giving it the most notable opening for a video game film since 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog. If the film continues in this fashion, perhaps audiences will notice a circle of drama reminiscent to Uncharted 2 and, in the not-too-distant future, Ali will star in a side project.
While researching her role as Chloe in Sony’s Uncharted, Sophia Ali discovered she wasn’t very good at video games. Ali’s filmography dates back to 2003, and she most recently appeared in the 2008 blood and gore film Truth or Dare, as well as on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Dahlia Qadri. Ali is now starring in Venom and Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer’s Uncharted, which hit cinemas on February 18.
Uncharted is based on Naughty Dog’s video game franchise of the same name, which began in 2007 with the release of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for PlayStation 3. The film stars Tom Holland as a younger Nathan Drake, a leg-pulling cheat turned fortune tracker, who meets his future mentor, Mark Wahlberg’s Victor “Tarnish” Sullivan, in a profound precursor to the games. Aside from those two, Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle, and Ali also star in Uncharted. The final performer is Chloe Frazer, a startlingly realistic fortune tracker and incidental soldier of fortune who first appeared in 2009’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves before getting her own game in 2017’s Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
