The long wait is finally over. After a ten-year wait, Borgen Season 4 will finally make its way into the hearts of spectators. Borgen’s first season premiered in Denmark in 2020. In 2013, the third season of the series was released, putting the series to a finale. Borgen had built up a considerable worldwide fan base over its tenure. It has received acclaim from both the crowd and the critics. The series was a huge hit in the United Kingdom and, in particular, Denmark.
Netflix saw an opportunity and partnered up with DR (producer) to pick up the series in 2020, resulting in the release of Borgen Season 4. Borgen is the story of Birgitte Nyborg, a politician who unexpectedly becomes Denmark’s first female prime minister. Many feel that Birgitte Nyborg, the main character, is based on Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Denmark’s first female prime minister. Helle did not become Prime Minister until the show’s second season. “I absolutely want you to feel there’s a smidgeon of idealism about Birgitte Nyborg,” series creator Adam Price previously said. She’s also become a very professional political person, but her idealism hasn’t faded, which is crucial.”
Borgen Season 4 was formally renewed in January of this year, with a release date set for 2022. Borgen Season 4 will debut on Netflix in the Nordic countries of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland on April 14, 2022.
DR has released a teaser for the next season. The preview gives us a sense of Nyborg’s struggles as the first female boss.
