A website has been launched by Melania Trump, former President and First Lady. After Trump’s ban on social media sites in the wake of the January Capitol insurrection, the website 45office.com comes.
The site features a lengthy biography for the former president that starts, “Donald J. Trump launched the most extraordinary political movement in history, dethroning political dynasties, defeating the Washington Establishment, and becoming the first true outsider elected as President of the United States.”
More than a dozen pictures of himself are also featured, shown on boarding Air Force One, greeting Kim Jong-Un, North Korean leader, and kissing a baby. The President and Melania Trump are other pictures at the first ball and at the White House black tie dinners. His two prosecution proceedings are not mentioned on the website. It states how “acted early and decisively to ban travel from China and Europe, which saved countless lives.”
As of Tuesday, Covid-19 has killed at least 550,371 people and infected about 30.3 million in the United States since last January, according to data by Johns Hopkins University.
Since the 6 January Capitol Uprising, Trump has remained largely off the web, killing five people and leading the Department of Justice to charge a minimum of 150 people, an increase to or more than 400. In the aftermath, Twitter and other social platforms, like Snapchat, were continuously suspended from Trump.
According to Jason Miller, a long-time Trump advisor and spokeswoman for the president’s 2020 campaign, the former president will return to social media in two to three months on his own website. “Tens of millions” are attracting new users and the new platform is “redefining the game completely,” added Miller.
Following Trump’s Twitter ban, Jared Kushner, the former president’s son-in-law and senior strategist, intervened to stop aides from trying to recruit Trump to use fringe social media sites like Parler and Gab.
Visitors to the former president’s website may also request a personalized greeting from him and his wife, Melania Trump, or have the Trumps attend an event. Due to the large number of requests, the greetings page says it will take up to six weeks for processing.
The website stated that there would be no status changes if the Trumps attended an event “due to the volume of requests President and Mrs. Trump receive. Requests must note if media will be present and if there will be any notable attendees.”
