Stan’s friendship with Evans, like Bucky’s with Steve, has been a source of entertainment for fans for a long time. Last year, while promoting The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Stan and Mackie battled it out to see who would be Evans’ ultimate best friend, but it was Mackie who emerged victorious. In any event, Stan and Evans appear to be excellent friends by all reports, and they’re always a joy to watch onscreen together. With Evans no longer a member of the MCU, it’s unclear whether they’ll ever act in opposition to one other. Obviously, there’s no compelling need to surrender over anything like this if last year’s reports of Evans returning as Captain America are true.
However, for the time being, Stan’s best MCU companionship remains his friendship with Mackie. The science between the two is so advanced that it was used to prepare The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the next Captain America 4, Mackie is expected to reprise his role as Sam Wilson, and it appears that Stan will join him. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but any sensible person would agree that fans would want to see the two of them reunite in the future.
Sebastian Stan reveals his favourite Avenger, but instead of Captain America like Bucky Barnes, he chooses Chris Evans. Stan is now generating news for his role as Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in the Hulu miniseries Pam and Tommy, but he is most recognised for his role as Bucky Barnes, popularly known as the Winter Soldier, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s been in five films to this far (seven if post-credits moments are counted), and he broke into the spotlight last year with his first driving job in the industry in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Stan’s time in the MCU has been characterised by Bucky’s narrative with Steve Rogers, but that 6-episode show saw him suit up close by Anthony Mackie, but in general, Stan’s time in the MCU has been characterised by Bucky’s storey with Steve Rogers (Evans). Captain America: The First Avenger, released in 2011, established the two as long-term friends, and the subsequent films explored their deep friendship as it endured through world-ending battles, UN-imposed laws, and Bucky’s training. Bucky remained in the present despite Steve’s decision to return to the past near the end of Avengers: Endgame. Fans are still waiting to learn where he’ll be heading next.
