Stan’s friendship with Evans, like Bucky’s with Steve, has been a source of entertainment for fans for a long time. Last year, while promoting The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Stan and Mackie battled it out to see who would be Evans’ ultimate best friend, but it was Mackie who emerged victorious. In any event, Stan and Evans appear to be excellent friends by all reports, and they’re always a joy to watch onscreen together. With Evans no longer a member of the MCU, it’s unclear whether they’ll ever act in opposition to one other. Obviously, there’s no compelling need to surrender over anything like this if last year’s reports of Evans returning as Captain America are true.
However, for the time being, Stan’s best MCU companionship remains his friendship with Mackie. The science between the two is so advanced that it was used to prepare The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the next Captain America 4, Mackie is expected to reprise his role as Sam Wilson, and it appears that Stan will join him. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but any sensible person would agree that fans would want to see the two of them reunite in the future.
